To support the In Schools Program in the 2007-08 school year, which sends teams of volunteers into classrooms to work with students on writing assignments.

Aim High, San Francisco - $7,500
To support expanded teacher development activities for this academic summer program for underserved public middle school students.

Alameda Point Collaborative, Alameda - $10,000
To support academic advancement programs for formerly homeless children living in subsidized housing at the former Naval Air Station.

b.a.y. Fund, San Francisco - $5,000
To support math and literacy programs in the summer session for disadvantaged middle school youth.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Bay Area, San Francisco - $5,000
To support the school-based mentoring program for disadvantaged children living in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park.

Breakthrough Collaborative, San Francisco - $5,000
To support teacher training for high school and college students selected as teachers for three San Francisco summer school sites.

Bridge the Gap, Marin City – [$10,000 over 2 years] - $5,000
To support program expansion for an academic tutoring program serving students from low income families.

To support Phase I of a capital campaign to renovate this pre-k- 8th grade independent school.

Children’s Empowerment, Inc., Daly City - $10,000
For academic support programs at three Daly City public schools: Jefferson High School, Pollicita Middle School, and Benjamin Franklin Middle School.

East Bay Agency for Children, Oakland - $5,000
To support the Eagle’s Nest after-school academic enrichment program at the Hawthorne Center school site in the Fruitvale neighborhood.

Friends of the Children, San Francisco - $7,500
For salary support of six mentors who are working with 47 at-risk public elementary school children to strengthen their performance in school.

KIPP Bay Area Schools, San Francisco - $10,000
To support a High School Placement Program at two local KIPP schools: KIPP San Francisco Bay Academy in San Francisco, and KIPP Summit Academy in San Lorenzo.

KIPP Bayview, San Francisco - $10,000
To support the growth of the Reading Improvement Program for 5th – 8th grade students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Laurel School, San Francisco - $10,000
For the purchase of audio-visual presentation equipment for the multipurpose room at this school for students with learning differences.

Mission Learning Center, San Francisco - $5,000
To support the after-school literacy program at Flynn Elementary, and a 5-week summer program.

Partners for School Innovation, San Francisco - $5,000
To support teacher professional development in San Francisco’s lowest-performing public elementary schools.

Project HELP, Sunnyvale - $10,000
To support expansion of the school-based Math Center at Bishop Elementary School, which provides early academic intervention to help students fulfill their academic potential.

San Francisco Arts Education Funders Collaborative – $7,500
To support public school teachers’ professional development in arts education, and to update the resource directory, Inside/Out, and related website.

Streetside Stories, San Francisco - $5,000
To support the in-school literacy program, Storytelling Exchange, for 6th graders in different public school sites.

Summer Youth Project - $2,750
