AMERICANS FOR THE ARTS (ACA)
A national membership organization that conducts advocacy for the arts, publishes studies and journals about arts education and the health of the arts nationwide, and provides other services to arts organizations.

ARTS LOAN FUND (ALF)
A service of Northern California Grantmakers that helps small and mid-sized arts groups to cover cash flow shortages with several types of loans.

BAY AREA VIDEO COALITION (BAVC)
A regional service organization that provides high quality editing equipment and other services to nonprofit organizations and video-makers.

BOARD SOURCE
Board Source provides information and resources for building strong and effective boards of directors through its web site.

CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL (CAC)
A statewide agency that makes grants and provides programs to enhance and promote the arts in the state of California.

CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF NONPROFITS (CAN)
A membership association serving the needs of nonprofit agencies statewide. The CAN Insurance Program offers insurance for individuals and nonprofits as well as other cost-effective services obtained through group membership.

CALIFORNIA LAWYERS FOR THE ARTS (CALA)
A statewide service organization providing lawyer referrals, dispute resolution services, educational programs, and resource information to artists.

CANDID
Through research, collaboration, and training, Candid connects people who want to change the world to the resources they need to do it. Candid supplies comprehensive data tools for nonprofits, foundations, and grants. Foundation Center and GuideStar joined forces to become Candid, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

CENTER FOR CULTURAL INNOVATION (CCI)
CCI was launched in 2001 to promote knowledge sharing, networking and financial independence for individual artists and creative entrepreneurs by providing business training, grants and loans, and incubating innovative projects that create new program knowledge, tools and practices for artists in the field.

COMMUNITY VISION
Community Vision promotes economic justice and alleviates poverty by increasing the financial resilience and sustainability of community-based nonprofits and enterprises. Through flexible financial products and sound advice, Community Vision creates opportunities to make socially responsible investments that revitalize Northern and Central California communities.

COMPASSPOINT NONPROFIT SERVICES
A service provider offering classes and other technical assistance to the nonprofit field in such areas as financial management, fundraising, marketing, board governance, technology, organizational development, and leadership.

 

DANCERS’ GROUP
A resource center for dance in San Francisco that provides performance opportunities, fiscal sponsorship of projects, and services to support the viability of dance in the Bay Area. Dancers’ Group publishes a quarterly digital publication In Dance, which includes discourse on dance and an extensive list of Bay Area dance activities.

INTERMUSIC SF
Intermusic SF supports the professional and artistic growth of San Francisco Bay Area musicians whose focus is the small ensemble. Through programs that include fiscal sponsorship, grant-making, career development, and curated performance partnerships, they strengthen the careers of local artists who contribute to a vibrant and diverse music community.

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS (NEA)
A federal agency that provides funding for arts organizations in several grant programs.

NONPROFIT FINANCE FUND (NFF)
A national program with regional branches that help mission-driven organizations achieve communities’ aspirations through tailored capital, strategic advice, and accessible insights.

SMU DATAARTS
SMU DataArts is an online management tool designed to strengthen arts and cultural organizations. This groundbreaking project gathers reliable, longitudinal data on the sector.

SAN FRANCISCO ARTS COMMISSION
A city agency that champions the arts and offers educational programs, provides street artist licenses, sponsors public art and a gallery, and publishes a listing of artists that work with youth, Inside/Out.

SAN FRANCISCO FILM SOCIETY
A nonprofit organization which presents an international film festival and other screenings, and offers financial and creative resources to independent filmmakers worldwide through grants and advisory services.

SF/Arts
A calendar listing of Bay Area cultural events.

TECH SOUP
TechSoup is a nonprofit that helps other nonprofits and public libraries get the technology resources they need to operate at their full potential. Learning resources — including articles, blogs, webinars, and forums led by expert hosts — are available for free to all users.

THEATRE BAY AREA (TBA)
A regional service organization for actors and other theatre workers offering a resource center, audition showcase, small grants program, management services, a half-price ticket booth, and The Lemonade Fund for Bay Area theatre workers facing life-threatening illnesses.

UNITED STATES ARTISTS
United States Artists supports artists in two programs, USA Fellowships and USA Projects. USA Projects is an online community where accomplished artists can post projects, arts supporters can help fund projects with tax-deductible donations, and partner organizations can join in with match funds. USA Fellowships gives annual monetary awards to outstanding performing, visual, media, and literary artists.
